What is Nereum?
Project Overview — Nereum
Nereum is an independent Layer 1 blockchain for real-world assets. Its network, NereumEVM, runs its own validators, consensus and state, with full EVM compatibility, deterministic finality and atomic settlement. NereumEVM is currently on testnet and progressing toward mainnet.
Beyond the capabilities of a first-tier Layer 1, Nereum enforces asset rules at the protocol level. Each asset carries its own policy (who may hold it and under which conditions it may move), and the network checks every transfer against that policy before it is written.
Security layers:
- Protocol-level compliance: every transfer is checked against the asset's policy before it is recorded, not corrected after the fact.
- All-or-nothing settlement: every leg of a transaction settles, or none does.
- Deterministic finality: a block that is final stays final.
- Policy that travels with the asset: restrictions remain attached across venues and networks, so an asset never arrives anywhere as an unrestricted copy.
- Immutable token contract: fixed supply, no mint, pause or blacklist functions, ownership renounced and source code verified.
- Independent verification: company registered with the State of Florida, with the smart contract audit and team KYC conducted by CyberScope.
The ecosystem includes the NereumEVM Explorer, Nereum Forge for asset issuance, the native Nereum DEX, the NUSD settlement asset and developer tooling.
